Last year, just over 5,000 children were exported from China to the rest of the world. Guatemala came in second, sending over 4,000 to families worldwide. Given the population of these two countries, that means that while one Chinese child leaves for every 200,000 people, the rate is roughly one in 2,000 for the Guatemalans.
